Sort by number of listeners.
If not many people have listened to a sample, it might be easier to identify. You're unlikely to be the person who identifies a sample if 200 people have listened before you and not found it. It's much more likely that you'll be the one who knows the sample if only 2 people have listened to it before you.
Pros
• samples followed by a large volume of submissions are not disadvantaged
• samples that have fewer listens (and thus are more likely to be identified) are presented first
Cons
• goes against the business model of paying to get more listens on your sample
• is not that much different from the "latest samples" sorting option
• is not consistent. "Latest Samples" has a consistent chronological order, samples will always be before older samples. The "number of listeners" order changes. Sample A might come before Sample B one hour, and then come after Sample B the next.
