I'm guessing the song you're talking about is probably "She's Gone" by Colin Raye. It's a country song from the 1990s in which a wife leaves behind her wedding ring and a note, which the husband discovers and wishes to reconcile with his wife. The song is performed by male singer Colin Raye.
